Men's Ministry

Our primary mission is to encourage spiritual growth, as well as create cohesiveness among the men in the church. We are dedicated to being a well-organized group of Christian men undergirding the total development of the church. We are manpower in motion in the congregation and in the community manifested through different ministries.

The objectives of Men’s Ministry are to disciple and equip the men of New Mount Zion in their roles as men of God, whether married, single, older or younger. We seek to provide a venue for modeling the life of Christ to men. We seek to do this through teaching, fellowship, and service; providing opportunities for fostering spiritual friendships and developing disciplining relationships, so that men can grow in conformity to Christ, specifically in their roles as men.

Women's Ministry

The role of the women in the church is vital to the nurturing, and the overall growth of the church family. Our goal is to ensure that every woman has the opportunity to grow in the knowledge of God while learning to live productive, spirit-filled lives. We are Christian women working to better ourselves and our church family.

Deacon Ministry

New Testament Deacons serve the Lord by conducting the caring ministry of the church-doing the benevolence work, visiting the sick, being alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation for the purposes of freeing the pastoral staff to focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word, promoting unity within the church, and facilitating the spread of the gospel.

Fellowship Ministry

The NMZ Fellowship Ministry, giving reverence to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, comprised of the Hospitality, Ushers, and Nurses, will graciously welcome all who enter the church, assist with parishioners' needs, and support the Pastor. The Hospitality will welcome, the Ushers will serve, the Nurses will comfort, and all will assist and promote a spiritual environment for worshippers to receive the word of God. Our Motto is: Ready to Serve, Therefore, “Let all things be done decently and in order” 1st Corinthians 14:40

​Young Adult Ministry

We aim to show love as Jesus did and to labor to foster unity amidst a diverse population while providing an opportunity for similar-age believers to fellowship and grow with one another in God's Word.  The Young Adult Ministry consists of two viable and important groups

 

1. Helping. Young. People. Everywhere. (H.Y.P.E.)

We bring together young adults between the ages of 18 thru 24 who have a common purpose in seeking a redemptive relationship with God.

2. The Bridge 

We are a group trying to be more Christ-like every day! We range from ages 25 - 40 looking to grow in God’s Word. We aim to group spiritually and relationally, with our Savior Jesus Christ, as we navigate our professional careers and grow with one another.

Youth Ministry

The purpose of our ministry is to reach our youth right where they are. This ministry is designed to give all our youth the opportunity to let the word of God live in and through them. We have exceptional youth ministry leaders who not only love God but love our children as well.

Grief Ministry

The New Mount Zion Grief Ministry's mission is to extend the hand of Christ as we comfort the bereaved through phone calls, sending cards, and making home visits when there is a loss of an immediate family member.              

Another component of Grief Ministry is GriefShare. “With GriefShare, the grieving learn how to walk the journey of grief and be supported on the way.”  It is a support group designed to help you rebuild your life. We know it hurts, and we want to help!

Media Ministry

The Media Ministry exists to invest ourselves in a ministry that will directly support all activities that bring the church body and community together in worship service, celebration, fellowship, and special events.  We are here to minister to the church body via audio, video, graphics, and multiple forms of technical support in a manner that is pleasing to God.  Our goal is to present the highest level of professionalism to make your worship experience   5 Star Quality!!!

Christian Education Ministry

Motto: "PREPARING GOD'S people FOR GOD'S PURPOSE."

Mission: To develop believers into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Purpose: Facilitate and promote Christian Education at NMZBC. Encourage creative freedom for NMZBC's auxiliaries to develop an appropriate curriculum conducive to spiritual growth and development.

Watch Team Ministry

To recognize that the days are evil and to show the love of God by sacrificing time, talent, and treasure to provide a safe, secure, and peaceful place of worship for followers of Christ, both members and visitors, at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church. We pray continually that these policies never have to be acted upon, but if necessary, will be carried out quickly and effectively.

OUTREACH Ministry

Our mission is to provide spiritual support to the less fortunate and provide hope and encouragement through prayer. We aim to provide clothes, water, and personal hygiene items to the impoverished and those in need. We also support the following activities via our ministry - 

1. Prison/Jail

3. Evangelism

Music Ministry

At New Mount Zion, our mission is to celebrate the presence of God through singing, dancing, and praising. While praising and worshiping God through song is an integral part of our worship experience, worship truly exists when we fully give ourselves to God with a sincere heart. True worship is a lifestyle!!!

During worship service at New Mount Zion, we use music and song to help set our minds on God and His might. By doing this together as a congregation, we fulfill another principle of worship - fellowship. Our worship services also incorporate praises through dance, prayer, giving, and hearing the preached word.

Senior Saints Ministry

We provide activities and fellowship for the seasoned members of the NMZB church. Our goal is to remind them they are still needed in the work of the Lord and allow them every opportunity to share their gifts, wisdom, and knowledge with others as they continue their walk with the Lord. 

We promote spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional growth through a variety of wholesome activities that challenge and stimulate older adults to explore areas that will enhance a healthy and vital lifestyle that glorifies God.

Culinary Ministry

We coordinate and cater food for all church functions and support families during their time of bereavement.

​

Day Care Ministry

The New Mount Zion Day Care provides a safe, nurturing Christian environment for every child that is entrusted to this critical ministry.

Our goal is to help our children become true disciples of Jesus Christ by building relationships with them, Being examples for them, and teaching them God’s Word.
